Oncology Yoga

Yoga enhances the quality of life for those touched by cancer, whether they might be in the stage of diagnosis, treatment or recovery.

The yoga4cancer methodology safely complements medical treatments and improves mental wellbeing by enhancing the lymphatic and immune system and promotes relaxation, therefore, helping to overcome anxiety and increasing the body’s healing ability.

Modifications and special care must be taken seriously, especially after surgery and treatment. Yoga suits well because the gentle movements in combination with breathing allow you to be at ease with your new body, enhance mobility of your arms and shoulders, relieve back pain or tight muscles; keep you focused and change your thinking patterns,
and less caught up in thoughts of sadness or fear, replacing worries with joy and presence.

As a yoga teacher and breast cancer survivor myself, I applied the Yoga techniques to help me cope with the physical and mental challenges I had to face.

Now I’m certified as an Oncology Yoga Instructor to share what I learned and find what best works for you in your unique experience, in a safe and warm environment.

How it works

The yoga4cancer approach is about knowing the physical, mental and emotional benefits of your yoga practice, and how to apply those benefits to address your specific conditions caused by cancer treatments, such as anxiety, chronic fatigue, bone loss, muscle weakness, neuropathy, lymphedema or recovery post-surgery.

Depending on your location and preference, we’ll meet either in person or online (video chat options available) to discuss your particular needs.

I will then create a program based on the Y4C methodology and what is best suited to you, which will consist of practices and regular check-ins to keep you on track and ensure the program is still best suited to your unique goals.
